Lactic Acid Cycling Benefits

Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.

-Henry Ford

Members enjoy the many benefits of organized bicycling in a supportive environment. The club carefully plans rides and related events that result in self-confidence, physical fitness and improved technical skills. Members support and encourage each other, learn from each other, and enjoy the fellowship associated with LAC membership.

Members span all age and skill levels. Some are experienced cyclists who pursue bicycling as their primary hobby or physical fitness outlet. Others are beginners seeking to improve their skills.

Other benefits include:
  • To offer the members of a healthy lifestyle alternative through cycling.
  • To promote and encourage safe cycling and interaction with automobiles.
  • To support a cycling team to compete in local, state, regional, and national cycling competitions.
  • To promote a sense of accomplishment and general well-being through the endurance sport of cycling.
  • To be an advocate for cycling by increasing safety, awareness and facilities for biking.
  • To offer mentorship, tutoring, and coaching to riders.
  • To increase the awareness and acceptance of bicycling in the community through group rides, training and coaching.
  • To conduct organized weekly rides (both on and off road) {and bicycle races} and to encourage participation within the community.

LAC Volunteer Requirements:

Our club receives benefits from our sponsors, which allows us to be actively involved in the local bicycle community.  We request that our members support our clubs sponsors and also volunteer for activities that are sponsored by them. We ask that all club members volunteer a minimum of 3 hours during the year. There are several ways to fulfill this request such as volunteering to support events put on by George’s Cycles, activities to support St. Luke’s bicycle related goals, provide volunteer organization for the club and other opportunities that will be communicated throughout the year.
